About us

The Dutch Council for Refugees supports refugees and asylum seekers from the moment of their arrival in the Netherlands until they have found their way independently.

Why we do what we do

Refugees have fled their homes because of war, political violence, their sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. We are committed to promoting the fair and just treatment of those in a vulnerable position.

Our locations

The Dutch Council for Refugees is the only organization in the Netherlands that assists refugees in all stages of their stay. We do this with a network of locations, employees and volunteers across the country.

How are we organised?

The Dutch Council for Refugees operates as a unified national foundation. We extend our reach across the country through local branches and consulting locations, ensuring our organization is actively engaged in nearly all reception centres and municipalities.

Vision and unique knowledge

In addition to assisting refugees, we also work on a welcoming society. We use campaigns and research for this. We also draw attention to bottlenecks in the implementation of legislation and regulations. Successfully! We also have a great deal of in-house knowledge of Dutch politics. Our views reflect this experience.

Our international activities

The Dutch Council for Refugees also works to protect refugees beyond the Netherlands through advocacy, strategic litigation, and international cooperation with our European counterparts.
