The court rules in our favour: our crucial support continues (for now)
The court has ruled in our favour: Minister Faber’s abrupt decision to slash our budget by more than half has been deemed unreasonable.
What does this mean in practice? For a moment, it seemed our crucial support during the asylum procedure and family reunification would have to end. Minister Faber had cut the budget for our Legal Protection programme by more than half.
Making Solid Agreements
Fortunately, the judge ruled that this abrupt financial decision was unreasonable. But what comes next? First, more clarity is needed. Faber’s decision will undergo further review – just how fair is it? Additionally, proper and careful agreements must be made to ensure the legal protection of refugees in our country. In the meantime, we can continue providing our crucial support.
